Music Paraprofessional
 
SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Music Teacher the music paraprofessional will assist with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives.  This position is part time – approximately 8 hours per week.  The school schedule would require that the music paraprofessional be there Monday through Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45.  The other 4 hours are flexible during the week.
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Music Paraprofessional reports to the Music Teacher.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists Music Teacher in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
  2. Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.
  3. Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
 
ADDITIONAL DUTIES PREFERRED
  1. Ability to accompany choir students
  2. Ability to choreograph
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree or the ability to pass the Para Pro Test.
