POSITION TITLE:  Facilitator of Diversity and Engagement
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:  Learning Services/ Instructional Resource Center.
STATUS:   

  • Classified – Exempt, Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for supporting the work of the Diversity and Engagement Coordinator and related activities.
This position is part of the Learning Services Team and reports to the coordinator of Diversity and Engagement
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work to carry out the Olathe Public Schools Strategic Plan by supporting work around Diversity and Engagement
  • Work to ensure program fidelity and delivery across the district
  • Work to support Diversity and Engagement with students, parents, staff, and the larger community
  • Work to provide service delivery for migrant education within the school district
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator of Diversity and Engagement to coordinate logistics, facilitate meetings, create trainings, and manage student clubs
  • Maintain and expand partnerships with post-secondary opportunities including both college and career partners
  • Be familiar and support students around graduation requirements, admission to college, different degree programs, work credentials, and armed forces
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education or a related field
  • Experience working with students
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholder groups
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • High degree of motivation, responsibility and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment
  • Highly collaborative team player
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to self-initiate areas of opportunity, make recommendations for improvement, and follow up as necessary to achieve desired results
  • Schedule flexibility and the ability to work on weekends, as needed
