Compensation: Salary and Rank are commensurate with level of preparation and experience.

Position Details:

The Division of Education at Mayville State University is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Education to lead program development and assessment for a Master of Education program and collaboratively work with the current Master of Arts in Teaching program. The person hired will collaboratively lead program planning and curriculum development, and work in partnership with the accreditation coordinator for the M.Ed. program. Applicants must be able to demonstrate innovative teaching practices to support online and distance learners and model exemplary professional teaching skills.  Other job responsibilities include but are not limited to: instruction in online and distance education courses, supervision of student research, collaborative work within the Division of Education in program planning and operations, advising, support for research initiatives, and other faculty responsibilities for the university. Extensive collaborative teamwork, evidence of educational leadership and excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.

Minimum qualifications: 

  • An earned PhD or EdD in Education with masters and undergraduate degrees in education
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in P-12 classrooms
  • Demonstration of excellence in teaching to include application of current instructional technologies and research-based instructional strategies;
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in program development
  • leadership in higher education, educational accreditation systems
  • higher education teaching distance/online
  • student-instructor research and scholarship
  • collaborating with education stakeholders in both P-12 and university settings and
  • working with diverse students/faculty.
