Dwight-Bellizzi Dual Language Academy is a Two-Way, 50-50 program model.  As a two-way model, we teach students from two language groups.  It is a 50-50 model in that 50% of the curriculum is taught in English, and 50% is taught in Spanish for all students enrolled in the program.  Our program is also a two-teacher model, where two teachers will partner to teach content; one teacher provides all instruction in Spanish, and the other teacher provides all instruction in English.

Vision
Our purpose is to educate the whole student academically, socially, and emotionally to develop competent bilingual and biliterate and culturally responsible global citizens.  We are committed to creating an equitable and respectful environment in order to foster compassion amongst a diverse community to become future leaders.

Priorities

Foster Compassion:  We recognize that beyond teaching skills, we foster values that help students become good citizens who contribute to a better society.  By teaching, and being models of compassion, we will foster an environment of kindness, caring, empathy, thoughtfulness, and willingness to help others.  Everything we do as teachers, students, family members, and community partners must add to our culture of compassion.

Provide an Equitable & Respectful Environment:  We ensure equity and respect for all when we cohesively and consistently commit to follow through on expectations and routines; communicate with and treat our students with their cultural, social, and emotional needs in mind; and, build relationships.
