Must hold a certificate issued by Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Admissions/Registrar, Counselor/Guidance, Financial Aid, Minority/Multicultural Affairs, Pupil Personnel Workers, School Nurse.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.


The College and Career Advisor will organize, maintain and operate a high school College and Career Readiness program and provide a wide variety of career information and materials; communicate with students, faculty, parents and community representatives concerning planning and college entrance. *Provide career and college entrance information and assistance to students, teachers, parents and counselors; coordinate day-to-day operations and schedule activities, programs and speakers. *Prepare career education and instructional materials for use by teachers and students; assist students in locating and using college/career information as needed for research, assignments and post-high school planning. *Train and support the implementation of Oklahoma Career Guide planning software for ICAP. *Plan, organize, develop and implement career events and publications; prepare letters, flyers, mailers and other materials to publicize Career Center services, resources and speaker programs. *Contact, schedule and arrange guest speakers from the local business community, colleges and military services to present information regarding specific occupations. Schedule visitations by representatives from local colleges; organize, coordinate and publicize career-related events and other opportunities for students to learn about higher education and vocational training and preparation. *Supervise the Internship program for juniors and seniors. *Develop partnerships with local businesses. *Plan and conduct Career Days, Career Month, Teen Job Fairs, or College Fairs.
