District Office Custodial-Assigned to La Paz Middle School
High school graduate or equivalent. Must complete pre-employment assessment. Under supervision, perform grounds maintenance, gardening, and landscape work; prepare athletic fields and other special use areas for athletic activities; and perform other related work as required. Under line supervision of a High School Plant Foreman, perform skilled grounds work and exercise lead supervision over a small grounds crew. Incumbents plan and schedule maintenance for grounds and athletic fields to compliment instructional and athletic schedules. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; effectively use hand and power tools common to grounds maintenance work; operate or learn to operate light grounds maintenance equipment. Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work. One (1) year experience in performing grounds maintenance or gardening work. Some experience in supervision or lead role is desirable or experience at or equivalent to that of a Grounds Maintenance I in the Salinas Union High School District in which the incumbent has acquired the knowledge and abilities listed.
Pre-employment & clerical assessments are scheduled with Human Resources upon receipt of application. Assessments need to be completed prior to deadline of positions. Para-Educator assessments are at the Salinas Education Center & do not require an appointment.
