Special Education Teaching Position

 

The Lewis Central High School is currently seeking applicants for a 9-12 Special Education instructor for the 2020-2021 school year for our moderate/functional classroom.  Candidates must have or be able to obtain Iowa certification and appropriate 5-12 Special Education license as a Level II Intellectual Disabilities and Work Experience endorsement. 

Lewis Central High School has an approximate student enrollment of 945 students and is looking for candidates that are interested in being part of a progressive district within a supportive school community.  We are looking for the following characteristics: desire to join a learning team committed to the pursuit of excellence; open to new approaches within content; ability to demonstrate effective teaching techniques;  willingness to develop strong relationships within a collaborative environment; demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction; ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with students, staff, and parents; demonstrates flexibility and strong desire for professional growth opportunities; and fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district.
