Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Ensure that food service employees are trained in a timely and appropriate manner. 
Ensure that food service workers perform their duties following established standards of service, courtesy, food quality, sanitation, and safety.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Specialized food training obtained from a vocational school, junior college or senior college preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the department may find acceptable
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to maintain valid Texas driver’s license
Knowledge of food production and record keeping
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Takes initiative to seek opportunities for professional growth

Experience:

Must have worked three years in a supervisory position with the National School Lunch Program
Successful cafeteria management mandatory
Computer skills enabling the operation of software programs is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands:
Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Stand, walk, push and pull, lift and carry up to 35 pounds; some stooping and bending most of the day; moderate exposure to extreme hot/cold temperatures; frequent district-wide travel
