Position Title:  Clerical I Media 50%
Department: School Media Center
Reports to: School Media Specialist
Position Summary: The Media Clerk assists the Media Specialist in ensuring students are completing educational activities as directed.  The Media Clerk is a support staff position working under the supervision of the Media Specialist.

Education:  High School Diploma or GED
Experience: None

  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities

  1. Attends work every day on time and performs all duties as assigned effectively and efficiently
  2. Exhibits a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in working with School Board members, school administrators, fellow employees, parents, students, and the public
  3. Demonstrates appropriate communication skills as applicable for the job.
  4. Provides adequate supervision of students from the time they enter the Media Center until they are released to return to class.
  5. Disciplines students with fairness and equity in accordance with Media Center policies.
  6. Assists Media Specialist in all operations of the Media Center as directed.
  7. Facilitates use of computer software and record keeping associated with software.
  8. Maintains and inventories media equipment, supplies and library books.
  9. Prepares displays, orders, reports, notices, letters, etc. as requested by the Media Specialist
  10. Assists students and teachers in the use of library materials, including technology
  11. Recognizes cultural diversity in dealing with students, parents, coworkers and the public.
  12. Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies and adheres to chain of command
  13. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material
  14. Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities.
  15. Participates in appropriate training, workshops and professional learning activities and applies knowledge learned
  16. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision.
  17. Exhibits time on task, a flexible, cooperative, progressive and hardworking attitude and style
  18. Takes direction from the supervisor readily and in a cooperative manner
  19. Cares for Media Center materials including managing book stocks, shelving materials, repairing and maintaining materials
  20. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Security Clearance: The Glynn County School System requires a criminal background check and fingerprinting on all new employees, including all substitutes and other designated employees.


COMPENSATION RANGE: * $16,549 - $22,862*
*Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
