Elementary Instructional Support Aide

The TA's play a critical role in assisting in classroom management, classroom instruction and aiding the teacher in order to meet the needs of the students. Individual Education Teacher’s Aides play an important supporting role in helping students become motivated learners with the skills to succeed in life. Aides assist teachers in managing all aspects of their respective classrooms. Aides care for physical facilities and student behavior, teach exciting and differentiated lessons that engage all students with the goal of the academic and social success of each individual student, evaluate student performance and report regularly to parents and build their skills consistently to improve their performance and professionalism. Individual Education Teacher’s Aides play an important supporting role in helping students with disabilities or who have individualized programs make progress as outlined in individualized programs, and to receive individualized instruction and assistance while in the general education classroom. Assistants help classroom teachers in maintaining safe and clean facilities so that students with special needs or disabilities can fully participate in classes, assist in managing student behavior, particularly focused on students with special needs and disabilities, under the direction of the classroom and special education teachers teach exciting and differentiated lessons that engage students at their individualized level with the goal of increasing the academic and social success of students according to their individualized needs.
Through performing the Essential Job Functions, effective communication, reporting, procurement of needed supplies and materials, exceptional public relations skills and superior work-product, the Individualized Education Teacher’s Aide contributes to a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
