Description

Countryside School seeks an enthusiastic teacher for one to two morning math classes for our highly motivated and engaged 5th and 6th grade students.

Position Overview

Countryside School seeks a Middle School Math teacher to help realize the mission and vision of the school.

Specific Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Motivate and instruct middle school students according to the Countryside curriculum in mathematics.

  • Prepare lessons, units, and materials to achieve above.

  • Nurture social and emotional development of each student.

  • Participate fully in Countryside’s calendar of days and events.

  • Engage actively in curriculum development, design, and execution.

  • Cooperate and communicate with parents, staff, and Countryside on the progress of each student’s growth and development.

  • Accurately report student’s progress regularly to parents and administration.

  • Set high expectations for students and self.

  • Participate actively in professional growth and development programs.

  • Attend and actively participate in all school meetings (staff, team, task force, etc.)

  • Cooperate with colleagues and parents in providing a superior educational experience for each student.

  • Encourage and help each student realize his/her unique potential.

 

Qualification & Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Secondary Education or related/similar academic discipline.

  • Commitment to the mission and philosophy of the school.

  • Knowledge of current pedagogical strategies and high proficiency with educational technology.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

  • Collaborative and cooperative mindset.

  • Love of learning.
