TITLE:                   Consortium Bus Driver/Per Diem

REPORTS TO:     Supervisor of Transportation


QUALIFICATIONS:        
  • Valid CDL license with school and passenger endorsements.
  • Knowledge of the care, maintenance and safe and efficient operation of buses.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
  • Carry out written and oral directives.
  • Good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties and endanger the health and safety of the driver and students being transported.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Obey all traffic laws and designated speed limits.
  2. Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
  3. Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned bus/vehicle.
  4. Transport only authorized students/passengers; discharge students at authorized stops only.
  5. Responsible for the safety of the children in their care.
  6. Participate in relevant in-service/safety programs as required.
  7. Notify the proper personnel of any mechanical failures with the assigned vehicle.
  8. Report all accidents/infractions to the Supervisor of Transportation/designee, state agencies, and/or insurance company as required.
  9. Such other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation/designee.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month


SALARY GUIDE: Established Per Diem Rates
