Description

Position:  High School  Special Education Teacher

Location:  Greenville High School                

Available: January 4, 2021            


QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Highly Qualified to teach special education at the secondary school level
  • Well-versed in best practice instruction methods
  • Expertise in differentiated learning
  • Exceptional passion for teaching and learning
  • High aptitude for forming positive relationships with colleagues, students and parent

REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
  • focused on student achievement
  • Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
  • Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans
  • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day
  • Exceptional use of technology as a teaching tool
  • Highest level of integrity and professionalism both in and out of the classroom
  • Flexibility in schedule and teaching methods
  • Multiple Areas of certification in addition to special education endorsement preferred  include:  SM, SE, SA SB, SC, SK, SL, SV
  • Excellent knowledge and background in special education programming, inclusion and differentiation
  • Several areas of HQ status in core academic areas preferred
  • Experience working with special education students and/or at-risk students preferred
 
 
CERTIFICATION:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  •  Valid Michigan teaching certificate with special education endorsement
 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This anticipated position is a regular, full time position. It will be MPSERS-eligible and fall under the GEA Master Agreement for salary and benefits.
