Substitute Grounds Maintenance Worker
SUBSTITUTE GROUNDS MAINTENANCE WORKER (on call, as needed)
$17.10 hourly rate
Under general supervision, to perform general and varied groundskeeping and maintenance work.
1. High school graduation or its equivalent.
2. Possession of a valid California driver's license and qualify for insurability by the district's authorized insurance carrier.
3. Knowledge of proper use, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance and general utility work; operation,
and use of a variety of hand tools and power driven equipment commonly used in grounds maintenance work; appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
4. Ability to perform general grounds maintenance work; use or learn to use hand and power driven tools common to groundskeeping and maintenance work;
perform simple servicing and adjustment to grounds equipment; perform work using appropriate safety precautions and procedures; understand and carry out oral and written directions;
establish and maintain effective relationships; work off the ground using ladders, scaffolds and/or mechanical lifts; work out-of-doors during inclement weather; mix and apply pesticides and weed abatement chemicals.
