Substitute Classroom Teacher
Description
Substitute teachers are valuable members of the Penn-Harris-Madison community and they are working every day in our schools.
Each Indiana school district is allowed to set their own guidelines for substitute teachers. At Penn-Harris-Madison we require that our substitutes have at least 60 college credit hours of higher education.
We require an expanded criminal history check that includes a Department of Child Services report on each applicant and they must hold either a valid Indiana Teaching License or a Substitute Certificate.
Penn-Harris-Madison pays substitute teachers $95 per full day and $47.50 for half day. If you are a retired teacher, and have given us documentation of your retirement, you will receive $120 per day.
Once you have submitted an application to be a substitute teacher you will receive an email that has all of the onboarding paperwork information. You will need to be able to log back into your application in order to complete all of theses forms.
We require that substitute teachers take our online training. You will receive a separate email that will give you login information to complete our online training course.
We look forward to having you.
