Purpose Statement

The job of the School Psychologist is established for the purpose(s) of serving students. Major job functions may included evaluating students to determine for eligibility for special education services, assistance in developing intervention plans through the MTSS/RtI process, consultation and collaboration with school staff, and direct student interaction.


This job reports to the Director of Exceptional Needs. Contract is a 193 days per year, which equates to 10 additional when compared with teaching personnel. Salary will align with level of education and experience in the field of School Psychology. Medical, dental and vision coverage is available. Additionally, CSF provides VEBA and other contributions. Certified employees are provided 7 sick and 3 personal days over the course of the 193 day contract.

Essential Functions

Conducts psychological assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and overcoming psychological issues. Write multidisciplinary evaluation report, including integrating reports from other disciplines.

Assesses and/or assists with the development of functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

Seeks out and attends professional development opportunities for the purpose of being up-to-date within the field of school psychology, as well as intervention processes/frameworks (i.e. MTSS/RtI). Conveys their learning with for school personnel through conducting professional development when applicable.

Consults and works collaboratively with Lead Special Education Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, Teachers, Educational Assistants, families, and other stakeholders for the purpose of providing requested information, reviewing/revising students’ goals/objectives, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations for implementation of goals.

Maintains files and/or records within the Community Schools of Frankfort, including, but not limited to, evaluation protocols, reports, activity logs, meeting notes/recommendations, inservice documentation, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or ensuring an up-to-date trail for compliance with various state, federal, and administrative regulations.

Maintains inventory of evaluation kits and protocols purchased by the Community Schools of Frankfort.

Prepares written materials (e.g. activity logs, progress notes, reports, memos, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.

Presents information (e.g. student performance data, clinical feedback, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.

Provides services at multiple work sites.

Participates in Multidisciplinary Team meetings, Case Conference Committee meetings, Manifestation Determination hearings to interpret evaluation or intervention results and assist members in determining eligibility, relational cause or appropriate educational programming.

Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals and to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of screeners, diagnostic tools, and appropriate methods for progress monitoring.

Coordinates CSF’s developmental PreK placements with CSF, Bauer Head Start, and First Steps. This requires an intrical knowledge of Child Find.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of CSF’s Special Education Department by the Director of Exceptional Needs.

Responsibility Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization’s services.
