Qualifications:  Valid State of Georgia certificate in the field of School Psychology.
Reports To:  Director of Exceptional Education Supervises:  N/A

Job Goal:  To help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally by collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals, and by evaluating and interpreting the needs of struggling learners in support of the district’s mission.
Performance Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and address learning and behavior problems that interfere with school success.
  2. Evaluate eligibility for special education services (within a multidisciplinary team).
  3. Administer appropriate individual psychological tests, interpret results, and communicate results to school personnel and parents.
  4. Maintain current and appropriate testing material and equipment.
  5. Providing counseling and mentoring to students struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral problems as needed.
  6. Make appropriate referrals for case requiring the diagnostic or therapeutic services of specialists.
  7. Collaborate with general education and special education teams to design and implement interventions (academic and behavioral) and determine appropriate progress monitoring tools.
  8. Establish and maintain close contact with school personnel and community agencies to help provide useful information concerning all referred students.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of students and students’ records.
  10. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
