8th Grade Science Position
Must hold a certificate issued by Maryland State Department of Education.

Responsibilities: A candidate for any of our teaching positions provides effective instruction and support in curricular areas for which employed; utilizes various instructional resources and technologies; demonstrates knowledge of the teaching/learning process; develops and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of a diverse student population; maintains contact and communication with parents and Student Life staff; and works effectively with administrators, colleagues, and all members of the school community. Additionally, SEED teachers are expected to:
? Create a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning goals; ? Establish learning objectives consistent with assessment of student needs, requirements of the state of Maryland and SEED, and knowledge of human growth and development; ? Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, SEED policy and administrative regulations; ? Participate in school management and share responsibility for the total school program; ? Plan and implement an instructional program that meets the need, interests, and abilities of a diverse student population, including students with disabilities; ? Reflection of on own effectiveness and ability to seek opportunities for professional growth and demonstrate successful application of new skills and strategies in order to improve professional competence; and ? Commitment to management of student performance in the classroom and application of effective strategies to reinforce and/or modify student behavior and performance.
