Title I Resource Teacher – Middle School Mathematics
Must hold a license issued by Virginia Department of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Collegiate Professional License, Postgraduate Professional License.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Algebra I, Math (General), Pre-Algebra.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th.
The license status must be active.
Job Title: Title I Resource Teacher – Middle School Mathematics Contract Length: For the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year, renewed based on available federal grant funding FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary and duties Ninety percent of the time performance for the position of Title I Resource Teacher will be devoted to direct instruction of students identified for supplemental instruction in the area of Mathematics. This includes assisting in administering a variety of standardized and informal assessment measures. The remaining ten percent of the time may be spent coaching the classroom mathematics teachers and assisting building administrators in the delivering of professional development to teachers and paraprofessionals. These responsibilities may also include assisting with data analysis of student performance that precedes the professional development and instruction for the purpose of meeting the needs of low performing students. Performance Expectations Must have a thorough knowledge of middle school Mathematics principles, practices, and procedures. Candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Virginia Standards of Learning and how curriculum may be organized to deliver differentiated instruction related to such standards for diverse learners. Must have extensive experience with successful teaching techniques, instructional materials, formative assessment measures, and current trends specific to the areas of Mathematics in grades 6-8. Must have demonstrated expertise with data analysis and the use of multiple data sources to develop action planning for school improvement, lesson planning, and monitoring the delivery of instruction. Must have the ability to assist teachers with instructional planning and provide training on targeted instructional strategies for differentiating instruction in Mathematics. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators.
