The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: English as a Second Language (EFL/ELL/ESL/ESOL), Autism, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Special Education (General), Orientation and Mobility Specialist, School Psychologist, Counselor/Guidance, Social Worker.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The certificate status must be active.

Using a multidisciplinary approach, Metro Prep and Laureate Day School provides educational and therapeutic learning opportunities in a small, nurturing environment. This allows our staff to tailor each student’s program to meet his or her individual needs.
Our staff is comprised of state-certified special education teachers and state-licensed counselors. The Principal and Clinical Director oversee the administration of school operations and therapeutic programming. Our milieu is small by design and we maintain an optimal student to teacher ratio of 5:1 or 10:2. We believe that this ensures the best instructional environment for our students and promotes prompt clinical availability.
Metro Prep Therapeutic day grade school in Arlington Heights has an immediate opening for a Full Time bi-lingual (English-Spanish) Therapist. Therapist must be fluent in both English and Spanish. Newly licensed or licensed eligible professionals encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To maintain clinical responsibility for a full caseload of students and their families. To collaborate with co-workers in the implementation of the IEP. To conduct individual psychotherapy on a weekly basis as designated on the IEP. To conduct family therapy sessions as needed. To lead or co-lead scheduled therapeutic groups. To maintain clinical documentation of clinical work: IEP goal tracking. Quarterly progress notes Incident reports as needed. Therapeutic summaries as needed. To attend district staffing as required. To implement school disciplinary procedures as necessary. To attend all required staff meetings and in-services. To meet weekly with the Clinical Director/Clinical Coordinator in supervision. To participate in weekly Case Conference Presentation. To participate in the shared duties and responsibilities necessary to the functioning of the milieu and school community as specified by administration. To update progress on IEP quarterly or as needed. To complete written report on student’s progress quarterly or as needed. To assist staff in crisis intervention and physical management as needed. To chaperone field trips as needed. To assist in Arrival and Dismissal as needed. To monitor students during lunch. To adhere to and support the philosophy of Metro Prep and Laureate Day School. Work hours: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm (12 month position)
Starting salary: $42,000/yr (Based on experience)
