Description

Osceola Science Charter School is focused on providing a high-quality STEM education in an intellectually nurturing environment.

To achieve this goal, we are always seeking well-qualified and highly motivated professionals to join our dedicated team of staff and teachers.

We are particularly interested in receiving resumes of certified teachers who are focused, skilled, dedicated, and flexible, as well as out-of-the-box thinkers in STEM subjects, especially interested in Competition Math, Robotics, Coding, and Computer Science.

First Year Teacher Mentor Program

OSCS encourages first-year teachers, who are energetic and dedicated individuals looking to prove themselves in the education field, to apply to our institution. Our first year teaching program provides mentorship from a team perspective. Teachers are paired with a mentor, grade-level leader, and team leader, in addition to a supportive administration, who are willing to provide guidance and support to ensure success.

Competitive Salary and Benefits

OSCS offers competitive salaries to newly hired and experienced teachers. Teachers with a master degree are offered additional salary compensation. Many of our teachers have additional opportunities to earn supplemental income during the school year and summer months.

In addition to competitive wages, OSCS offers competitive health, dental, vision, STD, LTD, and life insurance packages as well as 403 (b) retirement with a 3% match. Qualifying family members are also eligible for certain benefit packages.

Professional Development

Employees of OSCS are privileged to receive both private and county professional developments. Professional development is offered at an individual level (teacher) and group level (staff). Many of our teachers from our Orlando Science Schools Campus have attended national conferences focusing on reading, science, math, and specific teaching methodologies. Our schools have worked closely with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Valencia Community College, the McKeel Academy of Technology, The Ron Clark Academy, and motivational speaker Harry Wong, among others. Multiple professional days are scheduled in advanced each school year.

Employee Friendly

OSCS ensures the development of an explicitly shared vision for the school that incorporates the voices and perspectives of diverse stakeholders and opinions. Our schools foster open communication among staff and respects differences of opinion. The administration effectively delegates decision making and problem-solving to appropriate personnel while listening to and responding appropriately to staff, student, parent, and community concerns. Our employee friendly environment promotes a climate of professional collegiality and respect.
