Staff Needed: Two (2) Home School Community Liaisons (Part-Time)
 
Job Description:
Home School Community Liaison is responsible for fully implementing Family & Community Engagement department strategies. Assist parents & staff member in resolving concerns expressed at parent teacher, & administrative conferences. Help connect/assist assigned building principal(s) & other appropriate school-based staff member(s) in parent involvement strategy development & implementation. Help to coordinate the dissemination of information & communication to Parent Organization (PTO, HSC, etc) regarding local, district & community–wide parenting events. Help provide support to PTO in conducting orderly & efficient organization meetings, parent meeting reminders & fundraising events.
 
Not to exceed 19 1/2 hours per week
Time: 8:15am - 12:15pm Monday - Thursday and Friday 8:15am- 11:15am
(Availability to switch one day for one night  or Saturday)
Service a cluster of school locations

Qualifications:

  • Hold a High School Diploma or its equivalent diploma and minimum of five (5) years of experience working in urban community
  • Have ability to communicate well with parents, community members and school personnel
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
  • The ability to plan and organize parental involvement activities developed by the school and family support team
  • Coordinate and/or conduct monthly workshops at local school in subjects that fit the needs and the interest of School’s Parent Community
  • Knowledge and ability to use/operate a computer and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
