Bus Driver Early Education
The Bus Driver transports children, parents and volunteers, performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, fuels the bus, follows safety procedures and completes required paperwork related to the transport of program children. The Bus Driver maintains all required certifications and other requirements of the law for driving a school bus; operates the vehicle in a safe manner in compliance with law, Head Start Performance Standards and other regulations; maintains all required safety practices, procedures, documentation and reporting; works with the Bus Monitor to supervise children and communicate with parents; communicates regularly with the supervisor regarding changes or needs; and works as part of the Center Team to deliver high quality and safe preschool services to children and families.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL); Class A, B, or C including (S) School Bus, (B) Air Brakes & (P) Passenger endorsements minimum and Michigan Department of Education Certificate of Continuing Education for School Bus Drivers with current date,
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
All applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory background check (prior to job offer), have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment physical and TB screen.
