Description

Duties:                    
  • Responds to referrals and collects assessment data through interactions and observations at the home, work, and a variety of other settings to provide opinions for the individual’s plan.
  • Facilitates the work of the ISP team to ensure proper development of Behavioral Assessments and development and implementation of Behavior Support Strategies according to 5123:2-2-06 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
  • Provides needed information and documentation on behavior support strategies for the ISP, ETR and IEP. Works with the school age population when the child is involved with the DD system.
  • Works collaboratively with Board staff to review all behavior support strategies with restrictive measures prior to Human Rights Committee meetings.
  • Models and demonstrates specific interventions necessary to correctly implement and monitor the interventions.
  • Trains and evaluates interventions on-site, monitors all behavior interventions for effectiveness.
  • May provide consultation and input to teams working with children in the Early Intervention program or County School program. May assist with assessments, participate in team meetings or home visits and assist with implementation strategies as appropriate.
  • Provides relevant training for board staff on behavior supports. Acts as a resource for information regarding procedures and positive behavior support interventions.
  • Provides support to children and adults on an individual basis, as well as during small groups on topics to include but not limited to: grief, parenting techniques, coping skills, crisis intervention, social, interpersonal and crisis management skills.
  • Acts as a liaison with community entities, other social service and provider agencies.
  • Provides input for behavior support policies, assessments, and procedures to the Human Rights Committee (HRC). Serves as a member of the HRC.
  • Completes Targeted Case Management in a timely manner and maintains confidential records.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, coordinated, and effective relationships with individuals served, families, Board staff, providers and others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
 
Qualifications/Requirements:                
Bachelor’s Degree required.  Preferred degree in Psychology, Education or Social Work with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis/Management or a related field. Minimum 3 years paid full-time experience in developing and/or implementing behavior support strategies.  Ability to communicate in oral and written form.  Valid Ohio driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.  Successful completion of physical, BCI/FBI, Abuser Registry, Nurses Registry, Exclusions List, Sex Offender, U.S. General Services, and Dept. of Rehabilitation and Corrections background checks.  
 
 
 
 
Training/Certifications:                
Ability to obtain and maintain ODoDD Service and Support Administration (SSA) certification.      
 
Compensation:
$19.78 to $25.32 per hour, based on experience and education level.
