Requirements:  NJ Mathematics Certification or Substitute Teacher Certificate

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop high school students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical principles, equations, formulas and calculations, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics in the solution of practical problems.

Performance Responsibilities:
-Develops and administers mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
-Promotes classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction
-Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for subject areas
-Teaches knowledge and skills in mathematics and promotes creative thinking and analysis
-Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence
-Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress & modifies instructional methods to fit student needs
-Maintains familiarity with district and New Jersey State standardized tests
-Coordinates with other professional staff members and participates in faculty meetings and committees
-Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal and other administrators

-Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy
-Knowledge of wide range of mathematic subject areas
-Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
-Ability to organize and coordinate work
-Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents

NJ Substitute Teacher Certificate
New Jersey Certificate - Teacher of Mathematics Preferred
