Security Monitor Substitutes
The Orange Public Schools is looking to build a substitute pool for School Security Monitors.
This position will follow the school calendar and will be on an as-needed basis only.
Rate of pay = $12.50 per hour
No benefits.
High School diploma or GED is required.

  2. Must have the ability to communicate well with adults and children
  3. Must have computer skills and/or the ability to learn a computer program
  4. Must have the ability to record information and data on a computer
  5. Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  6. Must possess hearing and visual acuity
  7. Must have the ability to maintain one’s emotions in stressful situations and de-escalate
confrontations
  1. Must be able to frequently walk and stand
  2. Must have the ability to participate in trainings, as needed
  3. Must have the ability to read, understand, and write in English
 
Responsibilities
  1. Monitor the school doors during and after school hours
  2. Control the access of non-staff adults to the school by monitoring a sign-in log, requesting
identification, accessing records, entering data, and denying access to individuals, when
appropriate.
  1. Maintain professional relationships with staff, students, parents, and school visitors
  2. Work cooperatively with the school principal and 21st Century staff (after-school program)
  3. Report conflicts, suspicious incidents, and significant events to the principal, when
appropriate, and/or to police/fire department, as necessary
  1. Give directions to visitors, as needed, making sure school and district policies are adhered to
  2. Handle all information with proper confidentiality
  3. Adhere to and apply all Orange Board of Education policies and procedures, including
procedures pertaining to sexual harassment, blood-borne pathogens, safe and drug-free
schools, and student code of conduct
