Instructional/Classroom/Recess Assistant - 3 to 5.5 hours per day

SALARY: $9.26 per hour

Reports to Building Principal
Supervisory Responsibility: Students
RESPONSIBILITIES (Instructional Assistant)
1. Tutor individual and small groups of students as directed by the teacher.
2. Facilitate student tasks in activity centers.
3. Read to children and listen to children read.
4. Assist in the preparation of AV, media and technology for instructional use.
5. Help supervise children in and out of the classroom.
6. Assist the classroom teacher in completing the clerical tasks of the classroom.
7. Respect the confidentiality of the students in all matters at all times.
8. Complete other tasks as assigned by the building principal.
The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
2 years of college or
Associates degree or
Passing the state paraprofessional exam
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to:
