Position Title:  Core Team Member (Family and Community Engagement) – Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI)

Status: Part-time (Project-based)
Schedule: Dictated by agreed upon deliverables
Salary: Compensation is based on the completion of a set list of deliverables for each phase of the improvement cycle.  Please see table below for compensation.
Purpose of Position:   (Please see attached job description for full details) Provide support for schools in Pennsylvania’s Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) School Improvement initiative, a statewide program that includes regional school improvement teams.  Core Team Members have in-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices related to their area of expertiseTo provide technical assistance in the Core Team Member’s specific areas of expertise to engage school leaders and school-based teams in a continuous improvement process.  To use knowledge of evidence-based practices, in coordination and collaboration with the regional improvement team, to support school-based teams in completing a facilitated self-assessment process, prioritizing strengths and needs, and conducting root cause analysis. To support the school-based team, in coordination and collaboration with the regional improvement team, as the school-based team in creating a plan of action, implementing the plan, and adjusting course as needed. 
 Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline, combined with a minimum of 3-5  years of experience in the area of family and community engagement
  2. The ability to effectively support programs in advancing them along a continuum from parent involvement to family engagement
  3. The ability to assist programs in implementing enhanced engagement practices
  4. The ability to infuse engagement practices into the program through a systemic, integrated, and comprehensive approach
  5. The ability to connect family and community engagement systems and services to family and child outcomes
  6. The capacity to successfully convey the philosophy that “family engagement is everybody’s business”
  7. An expertise in sharing effective family and community engagement strategies in support of building positive, goal-oriented relationships with families and communities
  8. The ability to assist programs in “meeting families where they are” by individualizing services based on each unique family’s culture, structure, and situation
  9. The ability to provide a wide array of resources to support programs in enhancing family and community practice
  10. The skill to facilitate an understanding of the importance of collaboration within the program structure as well as with families to expand learning opportunities for children
  11. The ability to effectively support staff and families with diverse cultural perspectives
  12. An understanding of research as it relates to family and community engagement practice
  13. Demonstrated skills with professional learning
  14. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  15. Working knowledge of local/regional community resources
