Located in the Central Piedmont physiographic province and just 20 miles outside the state capital of Richmond, Powhatan is within 130 miles of the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., and within 100 miles of the world’s largest natural deep-water harbor, the Port of Hampton Roads.
