Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) is one of the very highest rated districts in Georgia and nationwide! RCPS is located just 22 miles east of downtown Atlanta in Conyers, GA off of Interstate 20. RCPS Board of Education holds the “Exemplary Board” distinction via Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) and Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) and operates as a “standards driven” Board. RCPS STUDENTS ARE PREPARED TO SOAR: The RCPS Class of 2018 had 1,100 Graduates , $25 Million in scholarship offers, and enlistment in all branches of U.S. Military. Schools attending include: Brown University, University of Chicago, Howard University, Emory University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, University of Georgia, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt University, Georgia Southern University, Georgia State University, University of Alabama, Clemson University, Texas A&M, and many more. • Rockdale County residents approved an $85 million, five-year E-SPLOST to began in spring 2019 to fund security, technology, and facility additions and enhancements. • One to One technology - RCPS finished its three-year implementation of one electronic device per student and teacher throughout the district. • RCPS has been named an AP Honor District by the College Board. Heritage High, Rockdale County High, and Salem High have been named 2018 AP Honor Schools by the Georgia Department of Education. • Six (6) RCPS schools made the Reward Schools list from the Georgia Department of Education. Barksdale Elementary and Lorraine Elementary are listed as “Highest Performing” schools and C.J. Hicks Elementary, Flat Shoals Elementary, Pine Street Elementary and Gen. Ray Davis Middle are listed as a “Highest-Progress” school. • RCPS relies on community support through mentoring, tutoring, apprenticeship and internship opportunities, the RCPS Foundation and the Partners In Education program.
