Description

We are a diverse urban school district that serves approximately 55,000 students who represent over 80 world cultures. We have 100 schools (62 elementary, 22 middle, 13 high schools) and 16 alternative schools. We are the largest school district in Southern Arizona and the second largest in the state. We are located in Tucson, Arizona where we have over 330 days of sunshine per year. We provide a two-year mentor program for all new teachers in which they have the support and guidance of a full-time mentor on a weekly basis.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Tucson Unified School District, in partnership with parents and the greater community, is to assure each pre-K through 12th grade student receives an engaging, rigorous and comprehensive education. Vision: Tucson Unified School District is a professional learning community that ensures every student learns, exceeds all expected performance standards, graduates, and is able to compete and succeed in a global economy.
