Mission Statement

Vance County Schools' mission is that every public school student will graduate from high school, globally competitive for work and post-secondary education and prepared for life in the 21st Century. The Standard for our School System is Excellence! The late Ron Edmonds stated, "We can, whenever and wherever we choose, successfully teach all children whose schooling is of interest to us. We already know more than we need to do that. Whether or not we do it must finally depend on how we feel about the fact that we haven't so far." Therefore; "let us teach each child the way in which we want our own child taught." If we do this, success will be achieved. Each child will be successful, and we will have an Excellent School System because of you. We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make the site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community.
