Currituck County Schools

Description

Currituck is a unique county, in that it is split in half by a body of water. There is the coastal region or beach, and the northern & southern regions that make up the mainland of Currituck County. Currituck County School District consists of five (5) elementary schools, two (2) middle schools and one (1) high school. Test results in recent years have indicated that Currituck students are scoring well above the state average in most grades and courses. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's education & volunteer in classrooms. Business and community support is vital to the academic success of our students. Each school welcomes business and community members to become involved in school activities. Businesses are encouraged to become partners with the schools in an effort to increase volunteers and allow students a first-hand look at careers. Our District sets high expectations for students while recognizing and responding to the individual needs of students. It is the district's goal to see that all students have the opportunity to learn to the maximum extent possible. We consider ourselves a Beacon for Excellence in Education.
